OPEN TEAM, BASS TOURNAMENT

Saturday, July 21, 2007, Lake Winnipesaukee, NH.

Ames Farm, Lakeshore Dr. Rt. 11 Gilford, NH.

The day started off great with some clouds and sun with a mild wind. We had 52 boats with 104 anglers represented; this was to be a fun day for many. This tournament is a mixed bag of anglers, fathers, sons, daughters and wives. They get a chance to fish with and compete against some of the top Pro’s in the area, all of Karl’s siblings fished this tournament, caught fish and had a good time, also the weather cooperated this year J. The competition was tough as we had some of the best Anglers in New England vying for the top spots it seems like the weights where down a little from last year.

NH fish and game was in attendance, they have instituted a pilot program this year to monitor where the fish go once released. All the fished that were weighed, were tagged and released. This operation ran smoothly and the fish and game staff were very cooperative and didn’t hamper the weigh-in. This will be some good future info on where they go once released.

When all was said and done there were a lot of huge bags brought to the scales, this was an eight fish limit and the team of Anthony/Hills took top honors with 22.10 lb. 8 LM. 2^nd place team C.Barcomb/A.Barcomb for a total of 20.33 lb. 8 SM 3^rd place was Smith/Downie who had 8 SM for a total of 20.02. This was an 8 fish limit tournament and there were a lot of big bags brought in. Big LM was the team of Worth/Soule 3.99 lb. Big SM was the team of Barry/Nuccio with 3.35 lb.

Hookerztackle and Ambush Lures Pro, Bean Lefebvre MC’d the event. We also had good representation from quite a few of the Pro Staff members from our various sponsors. We had a variety of sponsorship and a lot of great door prizes were given out. We would like to thank our sponsors for their generous donations, and we encouraged our participants to avail themselves of their services. Our Sponsors are: Hookerz Tackle Ultra sharp terminal tackle, Don Kennett Inc. Auto Supplies and equipment, Northern Bass Supply, Poor Boyz Inc. Tournament proven bait attractant, Skeeter Real Money/Shimano/YUM and Mark Burgess Enterprises, DEVA Systems Group IT, Irwin Marine, AMBUSH Lures Catching Fish of Guard. TBF, w/Solar Bat Sun Glasses, Castrol Oil and Massbass Federation .

This was a benefit tournament 80 % of the monies collected from registration was paid out for prize money, the other 20 % plus raffle money went to the Karl Kaprelian scholarship fund.

ten places were paid out plus Lunker Largemouth and Smallmouth. The members of Boston Bass Anglers are grateful to be able to put on this annual event in Karl’s memory, as he was a cherished member of Boston Bass Anglers.

The Kaprelian clan was well represented on the water with the patriarch Alan paving the way for the family. We hope all the anglers enjoyed the day and had a good time. We are looking forward to seeing you again next year.
