              | Second Youth Tournament at Lake Cochituate June 1, 2008 Once again we’d like to thank all of the boat captains for donating their time and boats, especially Xstream Bass, Classic Bass, Mike Tamburello and all the parents who not only donated boats but helped with setting up, cooking out, etc. We also want to thank Classic Bass for bringing all the hamburger and hot dog rolls which were donated by Wonder Bread. The second tournament of the 2008 season started out with much milder conditions and beautiful blue skies compared to the tournament at Mashpee. It was a great day on the lake, with most anglers bringing fish to the scales. We had 30 kids participating in the tournament and all seemed to have a great time. Thanks to all who attended! We provided a cookout for anglers and families, and raffled off a St. Croix fishing pole to the boat captains which was won by Tim Jacques. We also raffled off numerous bags of tackle to the kids anchored by a fishing rod won by John Brodeur. Congratulations to the top 3 in each division. They were: Beginner Division – First place went to Alyssa Bourque with 2.95 lbs.; second place went to Max Danese with 2.86 lbs. and 3rd place went to Cody Barry with 2.61 lbs. Junior Division – First place went to Patrick Wentworth with 3.52 lbs; second place went to Richie Vespa with 3.23 lbs; 3rd place went to Joshua Jacques with 2.18 lbs. Senior Division – First place went to Billy Snow with 9.05 lbs. and also Lunker weighing 3.45 lbs.; second place went to Steven Littlefield with 8.78 lbs; 3rd place went to John Brodeur with 7.61 lbs. Congratulations to all winners - Great job! The points from this tournament along with the Mashpee points have determined our junior and senior anglers who will represent Massachusetts at the Nationals. Representing Mass Bass Youth in the junior division with 199 points will be Richie Vespa. In the senior division with 197 points will be Billy Snow. Awesome job guys – good luck! Standings and pictures from Cochituate will be posted soon. Our next tournament is July 13 at Congamond Lake in Southwick. Please be there by 7 – the tournament is from 8 – 1.
